Data communication is a combination of telecommunications engineering with data processing techniques.
• Telecommunications is all activities relating to the distribution of information from point to another.
• Data processing is any activity related to data processing.
• Combined the two techniques are referred to as data communications in addition also called teleprocessing (remote processing).
• In general, data communication can be considered as the process of sending information (data) that has been modified in a kodetertentu agreed upon through the medium of electrical or electro-optics from point to another.
• data communication system is the physical network and the functions that can access the computer to obtain facilities such as running programs, accessing databases, performing communication with other operators, so that all facilities at the terminal even though physically located in separate locations.
